Fiona Morrison is a Master of Wine, wine author, writer and wine merchant who lives in Belgium and Bordeaux and holds both British and Belgium nationality. Her career has spanned many facets of the wine trade both in Europe and the United States. She began working for Paterno Imports in Chicago before joining Seagram Chateau & Estates in New York. In 1992 she returned to Europe to become the international spokesperson for the C.I.V.B. (Bordeaux Wine Bureau).
Since her marriage to Jacques Thienpont of Le Pin fame in 1997, she has been actively involved in the family businesses including Thienpont Wine négociants in Belgium and with Domaines Jacques Thienpont, their three wine estates on the right bank of Bordeaux: Le Pin (Pomerol), L’IF (St Emilion) et L’Hêtre (Castillon). Winner of several awards for her writing, including the James Beard Award, her latest book, “10 Great Wine Families” was published internationally. She has consulted and been board member of several international companies in Britain and Belgium. In 2019 Fiona was awarded the title of Officer of the Order of Léopold, for her services to the Belgian wine world.
